North Country Cottages & Campgrounds of Black Lake New York

      North Country Cottages and Campgrounds are located on the shores of beautiful Black Lake, the largest of the Indian River chain of lakes. Black Lake is an 11,000 acre lake with over 60 miles of shoreline. From it's origin at the Indian River to it's outlet into the Oswegatchie River it is nearly 20 miles long with the widest point being 4 miles. Fish found in Black Lake include; Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Crappie, Sunfish, Rock Bass, Blue Gill, Brown Bullhead, Channel Cats and Muskalonge.
     Although your days will be near filled with the fantastic fishing that Black Lake has to offer, keep in mind that Black Lake is just minutes away from many North Country attractions. Let North Country Cottages and Campground be your base for venturing out into the area.
     Visit the 1,000 Islands region on the mighty St Lawrence River, aka "The River". The 1,000 Islands vacation region is famous for it's scenic views, boating and fishing.Take an unforgettable boat tour of not only the American side of "The River" but Canadain side as well. Some can't misses are the Boldt and Singer Castles on "The River" or the Frederick Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg. In the North Country region, there are plenty of fine gift and antique shops displaying the work of local artists and craftspeople.
         Boat lover or not you can't miss The Antique Boat Museum in Clayton with it's display of hundreds of locally built wooden boats or you can see huge lakers and ocean going freighters passing through The Eisenhower Locks in Massena.
     Visit the Morristown and the Hammond Museums. These institutions reveal the diverse history of the region in an informative and enjoyable way for young and old alike. Least we forget don't miss Govenour, the birth place of LifeSaver candies.
     We are just a short drive to the majestic Adirondack Mountains and all of it's scenic vistas, lakes, rivers and streams.
     For the gambler in you, there are 2 casinos within an hours drive. One being the Akwesasne Casino on the St Regis Indian Reservation just north of Massena or the Charity Casino in Gananoque, Ontario, Canada.
